Bed Bugs
Bed Bugs
It’s hard to get a good night’s rest when you’re fearful of what’s sharing your bed. Although bed bugs bites don’t cause disease, they can create red and itchy welts.
No one wants to cuddle up with these tiny pests night after night. Bed bugs are hard to see and even harder to kill. They can hide almost anywhere.
Don’t worry about preparing for our inspection. We prefer that you don’t change the bed sheets, vacuum the carpet, clean the room, or move things around. That way, it’s easier for us to find the bed bugs.
After an inspection, the next step is bed bug treatment. We primarily use two types of bed bug treatments, depending on the pest problem. Both treatments eliminate bed bugs in all stages of life, from egg to adult. Both are pet and family friendly, nontoxic and chemical-free:
1) Heat treatment: we heat the affected rooms to over 120 degrees for several hours. The heat penetrates hiding spots and effectively kills bed bugs.
2) Biopesticide treatment: we spray the product Apprehend® where bed bugs walk, and the bugs carry fungal spores back to their nests. The spores germinate, spread through the colony, and kill the bed bugs.
